This course is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of the concepts of Medical-Surgical Nursing, including the definition and etiology of diseases/disorders, methods of diagnosis, signs and symptoms, treatment, and nursing care, as well as aspects of pharmacology and nutrition. Emphasis is placed on the nursing process. Functioning systems organize the course. The course is arranged so that the presentation of the systems advances from simple to complex.
